The end of an era. Giroud announces his 'goodbye' to the French national team
Euro'2024 will be the last test for the forward with the French jersey.

Olivier Giroud gave an extensive interview to this Friday's edition of the French newspaper L'Équipe, in which he announced that he intends to put an end to his international career after participating in the next European Championship.
"To be honest, I have to say that this will be my last competition with the French team. Obviously, I will miss it a lot. But I think that, with Les Bleus, it will end after the Euro. We have to give space to the younger ones", said the forward, who is approaching 38 years of age.
"I'm starting to feel the weight of the years, and I thought carefully about this. Playing every three days is increasingly complicated, especially at this level. I'm not going there [Los Angeles FC] to play the tourist, but I think it's the most suitable for me", he added.
The now former AC Milan player is thus preparing to say goodbye to the main Gallic team, for which he has scored a total of 57 goals in 131 official matches. The highlight, of course, was achieved in 2018, when he was crowned world champion.
