Jaime Faria 'falls' in the last round of Roland Garros qualification
Portuguese tennis player Jaime Faria was eliminated today in the third and final round of qualifying for Roland Garros, the second Grand Slam tournament of the season, after losing to Brazilian Felipe Meligeni Alves.

In his debut in 'majors', Faria, 183rd in the world ranking, ended up failing to reach the main draw, losing to Meligeni Alves, 136th, by 6-4 and 6-2, in one hour and four minutes.
With the elimination of Faria, 20 years old, Nuno Borges is the only Portuguese in the main draw of singles in the Parisian clay court tournament, facing the Czech Tomas Machac in the first round.
Borges will also play the doubles draw, alongside the French Arthur Rinderknech, with Francisco Cabral playing with the Colombian Nicolas Barrientos in the same variant.
The Brazilian reaches the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament for the second time in his career, after falling in the second round at the US Open in 2023.
