Roger Schmidt's continuity divides Benfica: "The result was seen"
Luís Tadeu also points the finger at the hiring policy of the reds.

Luís Tadeu, former president of the Benfica General Assembly, expressed his indignation this Friday with the fact that the club's top leader, Rui Costa, had made public his decision to continue counting on Roger Schmidt next season.
"I didn't like it particularly, I think it was too general and that he made a decision that I don't agree with, but that's my opinion as a Benfica fan. He certainly has more information than I do, but I have some information, which is the reality", the former leader began by saying.
"In the first year, when he was champion, he was ten points ahead and ended up with two, 'Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear'. Last year, the way the team was organized and structured was very bad. We saw the result", he added, before pointing the finger at the club's recruitment policy.
"From a financial point of view, Benfica is doing well. Purchases were made last year that did not work out, did not produce the expected effect, but that can also happen, it's normal", he said, in statements made to Antena 1.
In closing, Luís Tadeu argued that the reds cannot continue to force Ángel di María (whose continuity at Luz remains an unknown) to "play the whole game, when in many circumstances it is clear that he is tired".
"He is a very positive element, due to his experience and ability, but I don't think he is physically fit at the moment to do what he used to do, which was the whole line. He is not physically fit, and this should be analyzed by the medical team in each game", he concluded.
