The millionaire amount that Barcelona spent to fire Xavi
The former midfielder is no longer the coach of the Catalan club.

It was a story of advances and retreats. First, the Catalan coach announced that he would leave at the end of the season, due to poor results. Then, the president Joan Laporta held him back, practically at the end of the season. Now, with the culés' calendar practically finalized, it was announced on Friday that Xavi had been fired.
An act that will have cost Barcelona dearly. Xavi Hernández, who won a championship in the service of the culés as a coach, left for 15 million euros, according to the newspaper La Vanguardia.
According to the aforementioned newspaper, half of the amount will go to the coach and the other half to the technical team. Barça announced the coach's dismissal in a statement on Friday:
"The president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, informed Xavi Hernández, this lunchtime, that he will not continue as coach of the first team in the 2024-25 season. The meeting took place at the Joan Gamper Sports City and was attended by the vice-president for sports, Rafa Yuste, and the sporting director, Anderson Luís de Souza, Deco, as well as Xavi's assistants, Òscar Hernández and Sergio Alegre.
FC Barcelona thanks Xavi for his work as coach, which joins an unequaled career as a player and captain of the team, and wishes him all the luck in the world. Xavi Hernández will play his last game as coach of the first team this Sunday, in Seville", can be read in the statement.
