Kroos explains tears in farewell: "Seeing my children killed me"
German international bid farewell to the Santiago Bernabéu and could not contain his emotion.

Toni Kroos couldn't hide his emotion after playing his last game for Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday night, against Real Betis (0-0). The German international, who will retire after Euro 2024, was in tears as he was applauded by the fans
"I can only thank all the fans, the club, my teammates... I felt at home during these 10 years. They were unforgettable years", Kroos began by saying, quoted by AS, in statements to Real Madrid TV, continuing.
"This game had a different flavour, because it was the last one at home. I wanted to enjoy it as much as possible and I managed to do that during the 85 minutes. I consider myself a very strong person... until I saw my children. That moment killed me", concluded the German midfielder, who is now focused on the Champions League final, to be played next Saturday against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
