Valencia ends season finale to forget with two Portuguese players on the pitch

Valencia ended their participation in the 2023/24 edition of La Liga with a 2-2 draw against Celta de Vigo early on Sunday afternoon, completing a cycle of seven consecutive games without knowing the 'taste' of victory.
The team of the Portuguese Thierry Correia and André Almeida (who were bets to start, the first even wearing the captain's armband) even entered the match played at the Balaídos Stadium better, and, after five minutes, they were already celebrating a goal by Carlos Domínguez... in the wrong goal.
Iago Aspas restored equality, at 49 minutes, in the conversion of a great penalty. At 60, Alberto Mari also shot to count from the 11-meter mark, and, at 62, it was the turn of Anastasios Douvikas to score and seal the final result.
Valencia thus ends the season with 49 points, which leaves them in ninth position in the main echelon of Spanish football. Celta de Vigo, on the other hand, is provisionally 13th, with 41 points won after 38 rounds.
