Official: Villas-Boas elected president of FC Porto's SAD

André Villas-Boas took office this Tuesday as president of FC Porto's SAD at a General Shareholders' Meeting held at the Estádio do Dragão. The president elected on April 27th thus assumes full functions at the blue and white club, on the day that also marks the end of Pinto da Costa's cycle, who was president for 42 years.
"André Villas-Boas is the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of FC Porto-Futebol, SAD. The proposal presented by FC Porto at the company's Ordinary General Meeting was approved with the unanimous vote of the 18 shareholders present at the José Maria Pedroto Auditorium, at the Estádio do Dragão", can be read in FC Porto's official note.
One of Villas-Boas' first major decisions will be to define the technical command for the next season at a time when Sérgio Conceição's departure is gaining increasing strength.
The 49-year-old coach has the longest tenure in Pinto da Costa's presidential 'era' and is linked to FC Porto for another four seasons, until 2028, having renewed his contract two days before the elections. However, there is a clause in the contract that allows Conceição to leave the blue and white club at no cost.
