José Boto's car shot in Croatia. The manager was in Portugal
Sporting director is on holiday.

José Boto's car was hit by seven shots in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The Portuguese manager, who is currently working as sporting director at NK Osijek, is in Portugal and was therefore not present at the scene of the shooting in the Slavonia region of Croatia.
"We are shocked by this incident. The club's management and all employees express their full support for our sporting director José Boto and ask anyone who has any information about this unpleasant event to contact the police," reads the official statement from NK Osijek, which continues.
"NK Osijek will not issue any further statements while the investigation is ongoing, so that the competent authorities can carry out their work without hindrance," concluded the Croatian club.
The Croatian press reveals, on the other hand, that it was Alfredo Almeida, the club's technical coordinator, who alerted the authorities to the incident. José Boto had left the car at that location to catch a flight to Portugal from Zagreb airport.
