Rummenigge reveals the name of the new Bayern coach

Bayern Munich's long 'saga' to find a new coach has come to an end. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, a former German international, confirmed on Tuesday that Vincent Kompany will be the new helmsman of the Bavarian team.
"Our sporting director [Max Eberl] decided to choose Vincent Kompany. It's not official yet, but only the last details need to be clarified," said the member of Bayern Munich's board of directors, speaking to Sky Italia at an event in Sardinia.
The manager of the Bavarian team also revealed that Pep Guardiola played a key role in choosing the new coach.
"Pep Guardiola gave us great help. He had him as captain at Manchester City and also followed him when he was at Burnley," he concluded.
This brings to an end Bayern Munich's intense search for a successor to Thomas Tuchel, after refusals from names such as Roger Schmidt, Roberto de Zerbi, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralf Rangnick and Hans-Dieter Flick.
