Matheus Reis may miss the start of the new season due to insults to Veríssimo
The Brazilian defender was not included in the match sheet for the Portuguese Cup final against FC Porto, but he approached the referee after the final whistle and could be facing a four-match ban.

Matheus Reis could be a significant loss for Rúben Amorim at the start of the new season. The Brazilian full-back was left out of the match sheet for the Portuguese Cup final against FC Porto (1-2) last Sunday, but ended up being shown a red card by Fábio Veríssimo for protesting after the final whistle. Now, the Brazilian full-back will have insulted the referee and now risks a four-match ban, according to the newspaper Record, in Wednesday's edition.
According to the same publication, Fábio Veríssimo will have indicated in his report the expression used by Matheus Reis. "You're a son of a b**** thief, you didn't even go to VAR", the Brazilian defender of Sporting will have said, showing his dissatisfaction with the moves in which the lions were asking for a penalty.
The newspaper Record also guarantees that the decision of the Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Football Federation will be known later this week and that a suspension of up to four matches is on the table.
