The specialized portal 'Football Benchmark' released the latest edition of the annual report 'The European Elite' this Thursday, which delves into the millions that circulate in the king of sports, and where Portugal is increasingly represented.
The renowned publication places Benfica as the 22nd most valuable club in the entire sport, in the Old Continent, and FC Porto as 24th, with the eternal rivals climbing six positions compared to 2023. Sporting, in turn, joined the eagles and dragons in this restricted group, in 31st place.
The case of the incarnate is, moreover, particularly worthy of note, since it was not only the third emblem whose value increased the most, by 28.7% (only surpassed by AC Milan and Arsenal), but also the one that, along with Ajax, placed the most players in the European 'elite'.
The leadership, in turn, passed into the hands of Real Madrid, 'stealing it' from the (still) reigning European champion, Manchester City. The podium is, moreover, closed with Manchester United, as happened last year.
