Tottenham are reportedly considering a shock move to re-sign Marcus Edwards from Sporting Lisbon less than a year-and-a-half after selling Pedro Porro to the Portuguese club.

The news comes from Football.London on Friday, who report that Sporting director Frederico Varandas would be willing to sell the player for a fee in the region of £15million (€17.6m) plus bonuses.

The forward is an even more attractive proposition to Spurs given that they still own 35 per cent of his economic rights, meaning a deal could be done for an even smaller fee.

Furthermore, Spurs are said to be 'desperate' to bolster their homegrown player quota for their upcoming Europa League campaign, with UEFA rules stating that at least eight of a club's 25-man squad must be homegrown.

Given that Edwards came through the ranks at Tottenham before leaving for Vitoria Guimaraes in the summer of 2019, he would represent one less headache for the club in that regard.
