Wall Street kicks off the week with gains ahead of quarterly results
The New York Stock Exchange traded higher today at the start of the session, after a week with negative performance and before the release of the results of large companies in the coming days, including technology companies.

At 2:55 p.m. (Lisbon time), the Dow Jones index rose 0.14% to 38,039.21 points and the Nasdaq, dominated by the technology sector, rose 0.90% to 15,416.37 points.

The broad S&P 500 index rose 0.37% to 4,935.90 points.
This week, the market continues to pay attention to the release of accounts of major technology companies, such as Microsoft, Alphabet, Meta and Tesla.
Other large listed companies, such as Boeing, American Airlines, General Motors and oil company Chevron will also present their quarterly results throughout the week.
Investors are also awaiting the release of important indicators, including data on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the United States in the first quarter and inflation figures in March of the PCE index, the most followed by the Federal Reserve (central bank) to assess the evolution of prices.
Last week, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq indices ended with accumulated losses of 3.1% and 5.5%, respectively.
