OE2024: State goes from a surplus to a deficit of 259 million by March
The State went from a surplus of 1.177 billion euros to a deficit of 259 million euros up to March, which had not been seen since December 2022, according to the budget execution summary.

"Throughout the first quarter of the current year, the overall balance of the Public Administration (PA) went from a surplus of 1,177 million euros to a deficit of 259 million euros", reads the document released by the Directorate-General for the Budget (DGO), which specifies that this situation had not occurred since December 2022.
This is a decrease of 5,317.5 million euros compared to the same period last year.
