Azores Government cancels Azores Airlines competition (and launches a new one)
The Government of the Azores has cancelled the privatisation tender for the airline Azores Airlines and will launch a new one, claiming that the company was valued at six million euros at the start of the process and is now worth 20 million.

"[The Governing Council] decided not to proceed with the privatization process of Azores Airlines due to the significant change in the economic and financial conditions taken into account in the initial evaluation of the company. The current privatization process of Azores Airlines is therefore canceled", announced today the vice-president of the Regional Government of the Azores (PSD/CDS-PP/PPM), Artur Lima.
The government official was speaking in Angra do Heroísmo, on the island of Terceira, while reading the statement from the Governing Council, which met today, by videoconference.
