IGCP places 1.250 million euros in six and 12 month debt
Portugal today placed 1,250 million euros, the minimum indicative amount, in six- and 12-month Treasury Bills at average interest rates of 3.631% and 3.451%, it was announced today.

In these two auctions, the amount placed corresponds to the minimum limit of the indicative amount and the average interest rate dropped to six months and rose to 12 months compared to the previous comparable auctions, held on March 20.
According to the IGCP - Treasury and Public Debt Management Agency page at the Bloomberg agency, within six months, 500 million euros were placed at an average interest rate of 3.631%, lower than the rate seen in the last comparable auction, on March 20 (3.736%) and demand reached 1,302 million euros, 2.6 times the amount placed.
At 12 months, Portugal today placed 750 million euros at an average rate of 3.451%, higher than that registered in the previous TB auction with this maturity also held on March 20 (3.443%). Total demand was 1,868 million euros, 2.49 times the amount placed.
For today, the IGCP had announced the holding of two Treasury Bills (TB) auctions maturing on November 22, 2024 (six months) and on May 16, 2025 (12 months) and with an indicative amount between 1,250 and 1,500 million euros.
In the previous comparable auctions of these maturities, on March 20, the IGCP placed 1,500 million euros, the maximum indicative amount, in TBs at six and 12 months at average interest rates of 3.736% and 3.443%, respectively, higher than those seen in January.
Within six months, 500 million euros were placed at an average interest rate of 3.736%, higher than the rate seen in the last comparable auction, on January 17 (3.660%) and demand reached 1,775 million euros, 3.55 times the amount placed.
