BCP profits rise 8.4% to 234.3 million in the 1st quarter
Millennium BCP had profits of 234.3 million euros in the first quarter, 8.4% more than in the first three months of 2023, the bank announced today in a statement to the market.

The financial margin (the difference between interest charged on loans and interest paid on deposits) rose 4.8% to 696.2 million euros and commissions remained practically stable (a variation of 0.5%) at 196.4 million euros.
At the press conference to present the results, at Tagus Park (Oeiras), BCP's executive chairman, Miguel Maya, said that this was "a good quarter" and highlighted that the bank that BCP has in Poland (Bank Millennium) recorded profits for the sixth consecutive quarter, of 29.7 million euros, despite the costs of the Polish operation with loans granted in Swiss francs in the past.
