Miguel Almeida spoke at the 33rd APDC Congress that ended today in Lisbon, and had the motto "40 year Futurizing"

The manager said that "it is impossible to attract private investment" if the return is low in the communications sector and defended the need to "quickly change" this reality, which affects Europe, including Portugal.

Regarding the purchase of Nowo, the CEO of Vodafone Portugal regretted the difficulty of the operation, in which the company presented "stronger" remedies than what happened in Spain.

Regarding the entry of Digi, the CEO of Altice Portugal, Ana Figueiredo, said that the operator respects "all new entrants" and that it has "a defined strategy" for the new competitor, without giving details.

Regarding the possible sale of Altice Portugal, the CEO said that she could not "make any comment".

"What I can comment is that my team and I have a defined strategic plan with goals for 2023-2028" and it is in this execution that "we are busy", she added.

In turn, Miguel Almeida said that it is still "early" for the return of 5G and that there needs to be an entire "ecosystem" to take advantage of the potential.

The three operators reiterated that there is competition in the sector in Portugal.
