Siemens profit drops 10.7% to 4.421 billion in fiscal H1
Siemens' profit fell by 10.7% in the first fiscal half, which ended in March this year, to 4.421 billion euros, compared to the same period of the previous year, the German industrial group announced today.

The profit drop was due to the fact that Siemens benefited from the reversal of the "impairment loss" with Siemens Energy, the group said in a statement.
Revenue, in turn, remained virtually unchanged at 37.574 billion euros in the period under review, while its orders fell by 8% to 42.749 billion euros.
During its first fiscal half, the company grew in all areas where it operates, except in the industrial business -- which includes digital industries, smart infrastructure, mobility and health technology -- whose profit fell by 31% in the first fiscal half, to 1.636 billion euros, year-on-year.
In fact, orders in this business area fell by 25% to 8.230 billion euros, while revenue decreased by 9.3% due to high levels of customer and distributor inventories during the second quarter, especially in China.
The digital infrastructure division recorded a profit of 1.739 billion euros (up 17.3% year-on-year), while revenue grew by 5.1% in the first fiscal half and orders by 3.4%, in the same period.
During the presentation of Siemens' results, the company confirmed the sale of its subsidiary Innomotics, which specialises in motors and propulsion systems, to the KPS Capital fund for 3.5 billion euros.
