Average gross monthly earnings per worker rise by 3.8%
The average gross monthly total remuneration per worker (per job) increased by 6.1%, to 1,443 euros, in the first quarter compared to the same period last year, but in real terms the increase was 3.8%, the INE reported today.

According to the National Statistics Institute (INE), in March the average regular monthly gross income - which excludes salary components such as holiday and Christmas bonuses, so it has a less seasonal behavior - was 1,285 euros, registering a nominal year-on-year increase of 6.1% and real (taking into account inflation) of 3.8%.
The average monthly gross base income per worker was 1,138 euros and registered a nominal increase of 6.3% and real of 4.0%.
These results cover 4.6 million jobs, corresponding to Social Security beneficiaries and subscribers to the General Retirement Fund, 2.9% more than in the same period of 2023.
