PRR. Payments amount to 4.314 million until Wednesday

The direct and final beneficiaries of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) received 4,314 million euros by Wednesday, 34 million euros more than last week, it was announced today.

According to the latest monitoring report, the total amount paid corresponds to 19% of the allocation and contracted value and 24% of the approved amount.

The companies (1.663 billion euros) and public entities (1.005 billion euros) received the largest amounts.

These are followed by public companies (465 million euros), local authorities and metropolitan areas (382 million euros), schools (275 million euros), higher education institutions (176 million euros), families (166 million euros) and social and solidarity economy institutions (100 million euros).

At the bottom of the table are the scientific and technological system institutions (81 million euros).

In turn, project approvals now stand at 17.759 billion euros, compared to 17.705 billion euros last week.

The value of project approvals is equivalent to 80% of the allocation and scheduled value.

Companies (5.776 billion euros), public entities (4.816 billion euros), public companies (2.733 billion euros) and local authorities and metropolitan areas (2.353 billion euros) stand out.

Below these are higher education institutions (663 million euros), social and solidarity economy institutions (438 million euros), schools (429 million euros), scientific and technological system institutions (340 million euros) and families (211 million euros).

As of Wednesday, the RRP had received 331,381 applications, of which 220,935 were analysed and 176,418 approved.

Of the 463 milestones and targets agreed with the European Union, Portugal has already met 102 and three remain under assessment.

The amount transferred by Brussels to Portugal stands at 7.772 billion euros.

On 22 September 2023, the European Commission approved the revision of Portugal's RRP, which now amounts to 22.2 billion euros.

This change includes the financial allocation of the European energy programme RepowerEU (704 million euros), as well as the unused amount from the Brexit adjustment reserve (81 million euros).

The RRP, which has an implementation period until 2026, aims to implement a set of reforms and investments with a view to recovering economic growth.

In addition to aiming to repair the damage caused by covid-19, this plan also aims to support investment and create jobs.
