After all, when should the holiday subsidy be paid? ACT clarifies

With the main holiday months aside, many are already looking forward to the moment when they will receive their holiday allowance. After all, when should it be paid?
"Did you know that the holiday allowance must be paid before the start of the holiday period and proportionally in the event of interpolated holiday enjoyment?", recalls the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT), in a publication shared on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
You should also know that "the employer and the employee may agree, in writing, on another method of payment for this allowance, for example, in twelfths".
What is the remuneration corresponding to the holiday period and respective allowance?
According to the ACT, "the remuneration for the holiday allowance corresponds to what the employee would receive if he were in effective service".
"In addition to this remuneration, the employee is entitled to a holiday allowance, comprising the base remuneration and other remunerative benefits that are consideration for the specific mode of performance of the work, corresponding to the minimum holiday remuneration and proportionally in the event of interpolated holiday enjoyment", can be read on the website of that entity.
