The Dublin-based company revealed today, in a statement, that its air traffic increased by 9% to 183.7 million passengers, despite delays in the delivery of aircraft orders by Boeing.

Similarly, Ryanair, the European leader in the 'low-cost' sector, billed 13.44 billion euros up to last March, 25% more than in the previous fiscal year.

The company's CEO, Michael O'Leary, explained, in the note, that airfares increased by 21% in the same period, up to 49.80 euros per ticket, thanks to the recovery of traffic in a "record" first half driven by the Easter holidays at the end of March, he said.

Consequently, revenue per passenger grew by 15%, which offset the significant increase (+32%) in the fuel bill, which reached 5.14 billion euros, said the manager.

From the global turnover, the company highlighted the Italian market, which contributed 2,853 million euros (+ 20%), followed by the Spanish market, with 2,416 million (+28%), and the British market, with 2,031 million euros (+27%).

Looking ahead to the next fiscal year, O'Leary announced that he intends to transport between 198 and 200 million passengers, up 8%, as long as the North American manufacturer meets the aircraft delivery schedule before the end of this year.

The manager recalled that Ryanair has a fleet of 146 'B737 Gamechangers' aircraft and expressed confidence that it will increase to 158 by the end of July, 23 less than contracted to date.

O'Leary warned that the capacity for medium-haul flights within the European Union is "limited", although the demand for tickets for this summer is "positive", as demonstrated by the recovery of advance bookings compared to the same period in 2023.

However, he stressed that it is still too early to have an accurate analysis of the results expected for the next fiscal year.

"The final result of fiscal year 2025 will depend largely on the ability to avoid adverse events during the year, such as wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, disruptions caused by air traffic controller strikes or new delays in Boeing deliveries," added O'Leary.
