According to an analysis prepared by Informa D&B, between 2021 and 2023, the temporary employment services sector showed a growth in turnover of over 50% and "it is expected that growth will continue in 2024 and 2025, although at a lower rate, as a result of less favourable macroeconomic forecasts".

The number of companies authorised to operate in the temporary employment sector in Portugal was 250 in December 2023, a slightly higher value than that recorded at the end of the previous year.

The Lisbon area, with a total of 125 companies, and the North area, with 76 operators, were the areas with the highest number of companies, while in the remaining areas there were less than 20 authorised companies.

The number of people working in this sector amounted to 98,027 in 2022, according to data released by Informa D&B.
