Euro zone external trade surplus widens in March
The euro area trade surplus in goods increased in March to €24.1 billion, €5 billion more than in the same month of 2023, Eurostat reported today.

According to the data, exports of goods from the eurozone to the rest of the world reached 245.4 billion euros (BE) in March, a 9.2% year-on-year decrease, while imports fell 12% to 221.3 billion euros.
In the European Union (EU), according to the European statistical service, the trade surplus in goods increased to 21.7 BE, compared to 17.4 BE in March 2023.
Exports of goods from the EU to third countries fell 9.5% to 219.6 BE and imports decreased 12.1%, totaling 197.9 BE in March.
