Economy debt accelerates to 801.7 billion in March
In March, the non-financial sector debt (public administrations, companies and individuals) increased by 1.3 billion euros.

The non-financial sector's indebtedness, which includes public administrations, companies and individuals, increased by 1.3 billion euros, to 801.7 billion euros, in March, the Banco de Portugal (BdP) indicated this Friday.
According to a note published on its website, the BdP revealed that "of this total, 441.7 billion euros were related to the private sector (private companies and individuals) and 360.0 billion euros to the public sector (public administrations and public companies)".
The public sector's indebtedness increased by 1.2 billion euros, "which was largely motivated by the issuance of Treasury bonds, held by foreign entities and the financial sector, and by loans from the financial sector".
Also according to the BdP, "the private sector's indebtedness grew by 0.1 billion euros, as a result of the increase in individuals' indebtedness, of 0.4 billion euros, with the financial sector, and the reduction in private companies' indebtedness, of 0.3 billion euros, mainly with foreign entities".
