IRS Jovem approved with maximum rate of up to 15% for higher incomes
The Council of Ministers approved today the new IRS Jovem regime, which includes the payment of one third of the tax rate up to a maximum of 15% for all income from work of people up to 35 years old.

The measure was presented by the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, at the end of a Council of Ministers held in Braga and dedicated to youth.
"We approved a bill that will be sent to the Assembly of the Republic in which we fulfill a solemnly assumed commitment to apply a maximum rate of 15% of IRS, which translates into a third of the rate compared to the rate that is currently in force", said Luís Montenegro.
As is the case with the current IRS Jovem regime, the rules approved today cover employment income from categories A (work for others) and B (self-employed).
