Around 09:05 in Lisbon, the PSI maintained the opening trend and advanced 0.40% to 6,928.13 points, with nine 'papers' rising, four falling and three maintaining the price (Ibersol at 7.48 euros, Greenvolt at 8.30 euros and NOS at 3.35 euros).

In the first quarter of this year, Semapa recorded profits attributable to shareholders of 48.2 million euros, a 15.4% drop in homologous terms, it reported on Friday, in a statement to the Securities Market Commission (CMVM).

"The increase in EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) was not enough to offset the reduction in financial results and the increase in amortizations for the year", said the company, in the same note.

Mota-Engil shares were followed by EDP, CTT and EDP Renováveis, which recorded gains of 1.22% to 3.73 euros, 1.03% to 4.41 euros and 0.90% to 14.64 euros.

Jerónimo Martins, Corticeira Amorim and REN shares also rose, namely 0.78% to 20.66 euros, 0.21% to 9.57 euros and 0.21% to 2.43 euros.

On the other hand, in addition to Semapa, Altri, Sonae and Galp shares fell 0.47% to 5.26 euros, 0.41% to 0.97 euros and 0.10% to 19.79 euros.

The main European stock exchanges were up today, in a session in which there will be a lower volume of transactions due to the holidays on Wall Street (Memorial Day) and in London (Spring Bank Holiday).

European stock exchanges started the week with slight gains, after Wall Street closed on Friday in positive territory, with a new record on the Nasdaq, where large technology companies are listed, thanks to the excellent results of the North American 'chip' manufacturer Nvidia.

The interest on the 10-year German bond, considered the safest in Europe, rose to 2.587%, against 2.583% on Friday.

The barrel of Brent oil for delivery in July opened today on the rise, trading at 82.27 dollars on the Intercontinental Exchange Futures (ICE) in London, against 82.12 dollars on Friday.
