Portugal and Spain resume cooperation for energy and digital transition
The Ministers of Economy of Portugal and Spain agreed today, in Madrid, to resume cooperation in the areas of energy and digital transition and mobility.

"The Minister of Economy, Pedro Reis, and his Spanish counterpart, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Enterprise, Carlos Cuerpo, agreed today, in Madrid, to resume the cooperation agenda in the area of the economy, in the domains of the energy transition, digital and mobility", indicated, in a statement, the Portuguese Government.
Also on the table were topics such as the development of integrated value chains, in areas such as electric vehicles and bank payments.
Pedro Reis also had a meeting with the Spanish Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, to debate reindustrialization strategies and tourism growth policies "with a view to sustainability and the valorization of cross-border territories".
The Minister of Economy of Portugal also had a meeting with the president of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), Antonio Garamendi.
In this bilateral meeting, Pedro Reis highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries for the economic fabric and for their strategic positioning in the European Union.
