Luís Figo will offer the "iconic 'cochinillo'" in Spain (and he has an ally)
The ex-footballer will launch a special campaign dedicated to the Classic between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, providing a "unique gastronomic experience".

Luís Figo has teamed up with Uber Eats in Spain to promote a "unique gastronomic experience" for the Clásico between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, a match scheduled for next Sunday at 8 pm.
This is a special campaign dedicated to the match that comes more than twenty years after the famous "El Clásico del cochinillo", bringing fans "the most famous dish in Spanish football: roast suckling pig"
According to the statement sent to newsrooms, "from today, users of the platform in Madrid and Barcelona can savor the Portuguese star's favorite stew through his special selection of roast suckling pig".
"Since that fateful match more than twenty years ago, everything has happened to me. But no one has to wait for me to turn a corner to throw roast suckling pig at me anymore. Thanks to Uber Eats, both the meringues and the culés can now order my favorite dish to enjoy the Clásico in Madrid and Barcelona", says Luís Figo.
The statement also goes back to the end of 2002, when "Barcelona hosted a Real Madrid that included Luís Figo, a former star and captain of the Catalan team, among its 'galácticos'".
"That match was marked as the most talked-about clásico to date: every time he went to the flag to take a corner, a shower of objects fell on Figo. Among them, cups, bottles, sandwiches and even an iconic pig's head that would forever mark the match as the 'Clásico del cochinillo'", they recall in the note.
Thus, the 'El Clásico del cochinillo' "is one of the most emblematic moments in the history of football in Spain" and that is why Uber Eats made a point of "paying tribute to it and making Figo's dream come true: fans of both teams can order their own cochinillo at the touch of a button, just in time for the match", highlights Ricardo Pabón, marketing director of Uber Eats in Spain.
To do so, simply go to Figo's El Cochinillo store in the Uber Eats app in Spain. "In Madrid, roast suckling pig from 'Asador Casa Juan' and 'El Trasgu de Ponzano' are available. In Barcelona, you can find the dish at '2254 Tapas' and 'Bar Miramar'. In addition, users in both cities have the option of trying the modern version of roast suckling pig from 'Chivuo', in the form of a pulled pork hamburger", they also note.
