Helena Sacadura Cabral remembered her late son Miguel, who died on April 24, 2012. Wednesday marked 12 years since his passing.
"Today [April 24], another year has passed since my son Miguel passed away. My first thoughts were of him, smiling, in the photo that is on my bedside table. I sat there, on the edge of the bed, smiling at him, knowing that wherever he is, he would be doing the same. I gave him a kiss and calmly started my day of work", she reported.
"At night, I will say goodbye to him again, waiting for his birthday, on May 1. This year, for the first time, I will spend that day at sea in Praia das Maçãs, where his ashes rest. And I will be able to leave a bouquet of flowers there. He was and is a blessed son", she said next.
In the same post, the writer also revealed that she will be absent from social media. "Today is also the time for me to say goodbye to my readers on social media. For almost two years, I have been sharing with you a way of life that is mine, and which I thought could lead others, who are less happy, to review theirs. If I was able to give encouragement and strength, I am happy. If I did not achieve my goal, it was very positive for me to read your comments, which also helped me to revisit the various lives I have lived! I will be around preparing the new book, which will be released in October, but from time to time, I will come here to give you news", she explained.
"Finally, a very special thank you to all those who, before I wrote these lines, remembered Miguel", she added.
