Singer and composer Jean-Pierre Ferland died last Saturday, April 27, at 89 years old, of natural causes.
His departure came almost three months after the artist was admitted to a health unit in February, according to the international press.
After the news, Céline Dion made a point of using her Instagram page to pay tribute to her friend.
When publishing an old photograph of them both, she said: "You wrote me kisses that light me up better than all the stars. The life of the court took you with the love notebooks from my room at the Hotel Saint-Amant. The women you loved so much are sad. The night falls crying. Goodbye, Jean-Pierre. I will always love you... always... always.
Jean-Pierre Ferland was a poet and composer, 'showman' and television presenter. A true gentleman who loved women, writing hundreds of songs that became part of our lives. Two of them were written for me, creating a strong connection between us. I pay tribute to his death here using words chosen from these songs. Rest in peace, dear friend. You will remain in my heart forever".
