Betty Grafstein has been admitted to the CUF Cascais Hospital since April 20 and was transferred today, May 8, to the CUF Tejo Hospital in Lisbon. This is because she had to be transferred to the intensive care unit - which does not exist in the hospital unit where she was admitted.
The decision was made due to the worsening health condition of José Castelo Branco's wife, as reported by CNN Portugal.
"The situation is delicate, it is critical. And this is what justifies this transfer to the hospital", added journalist Conceição Queiroz.
Betty Grafstein was admitted to the CUF Cascais Hospital last April with body injuries and a fractured femur. José Castelo Branco's wife, it is recalled, was also diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism.
"Then we have the issue of vital parameters, which are also very fragile. It is a whole picture that justified her leaving [for the CUF Tejo Hospital]. And all this at a time when Betty's son is expected to arrive, [...] he may arrive in Portugal at any moment", added Conceição Queiroz, explaining that the "intention is to take his mother to the USA".
José Castelo Branco was arrested on Tuesday, May 7, for the first judicial interrogation after being accused of domestic violence against his wife, Betty. The socialite denies the accusations and went to the Sintra Court today to be heard.
