Fantastic news for Kate Middleton! The Princess of Wales's initiative to encourage businesses to help improve the lives of young children and their parents has taken another step forward.
A new report has been published by the Early Years Business Taskforce, a cause close to Kate's heart in recent years.
Entitled 'Prioritising early childhood for a happier, healthier society', the report was produced by Deloitte on behalf of the Taskforce.
It found that adults who have happier childhoods go on to be more productive employees.
Kate, 42, has been kept updated on the findings, despite battling ongoing health issues.
"I know the Princess is hugely grateful to the Taskforce members who have made such fantastic progress on this work over the past year," said Christian Guy, CEO of The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.
"She is passionate about the impact this work can have, both for our current generation of children and for generations to come. I know she is keen to encourage businesses of all sizes and sectors to join us and looks forward to seeing how it develops," he added.
The report suggests that investing in the early years could add at least £45.5billion to the UK economy every year.
Among its aims are helping families afford the basics, supporting parents' careers, making work more flexible, prioritising emotional and social development in children and adults and improving access to education and healthcare.
