Frederik of Denmark celebrates his 56th birthday this Sunday, May 26, his first since ascending to the throne on January 14, following the abdication of his mother, Queen Margrethe.
To mark the date, the Royal House shared a new photograph of the sovereign, duly uniformed, and revealed the plans for this special day.
"His Majesty the King has a birthday and turns 56 today. The day is marked at 12.00 at Amalienborg, where the King and the Royal Family appear on the balcony of Frederik VIII's Palace. The public is invited to participate in the festive celebration of the King at the Palace Square", can be read in the caption of the photo.
"Everyone also has the opportunity to wish His Majesty a happy birthday on social media and on the website of the Royal Palace, where a digital list of congratulations has been created", also states the statement.
