Frederico X celebrated his 56th birthday this Sunday, the 27th, however, who received the gift was his wife, Queen Mary.
As reported by the magazine Vanitatis, the King of Denmark awarded his companion the Cross of the Grand Commander of Dannebrogorden.
This is the most important distinction of the Dannebrogorden order, and can only be awarded to members of the royal family.
It is worth noting that the order has seven members: Queen Margrethe II, Prince Joachim, Princess Benedicta, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and King Harald of Norway.
This 'gift' comes shortly after the rumors that the sovereign had an alleged 'affair' with Genoveva Casanova, after photographs of the two in Madrid, Spain, were made public.
The rumors of a crisis in the marriage ended up being 'stifled' with the accession to the throne of Frederick, which happened in January after the abdication of Queen Margrethe.
