Beatrice and Eugenie's importance in the royal family's time of need

The princesses have been an unquestionable support for their cousin, Prince William, in the absence of Kate Middleton.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have emerged as key supports for Prince William and King Charles III amid a testing time for the British royal family.

The sisters, daughters of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, recently joined William at a garden party, an event they are seldom seen at.

"They are much closer than most cousins – they share a unique upbringing and set of experiences," a source told Hello! magazine.

"This is an institution they are all part of, in different ways because of how they work for it, but they all believe in it and its future and want to support it," the insider continued.

The publication noted that while Beatrice and Eugenie are unlikely to become full-time working royals, they are valuable assets on such occasions.

"They have always had a strong sense of duty, which probably comes from their grandmother. And they have always been trusted. I think that is appreciated," the source added.

"The royals recognise that they have huge charm, are very good young women, very easy company, good with the public and good at charity work," the insider concluded.
