A Dream Come True? Acqua di Parma Launches 500ml Colonia
More than 100 years after its launch, this fragrance continues to add fans.

Acqua di Parma has launched a special 500-milliliter edition of its iconic Colonia. "A dream come true for the unconditional fans of this fragrance that, more than 100 years after its launch, continues to be an icon of modernity through its clean and citrus notes that represent a silent luxury like no other", the brand stated in a press release.
It all began in 1916, when Baron Carlo created a perfume for personal use, which he named 'Colonia', in a small laboratory of essences in the city of Parma. The notes that served as its base (lemon, sweet orange, Calabrian bergamot, lavender, Bulgarian rose, verbena, rosemary, vetiver, sandalwood, and patchouli) remain current, as does its Art Deco-style bottle, with a black cap and yellow box. The yellow is a tribute to the color that has painted the facades of Parma's noble palaces since the Baroque period, and its logo, the coat of arms of the Duchy of Parma at the time of Queen Maria Luísa of Parma, the sovereign who made the city a center of culture and style.

"Colonia maintains its artisanal character and is produced with the same century-old techniques and with the best materials and finishes, all handmade, for decades", the brand assures.

Originally conceived as a masculine fragrance, it quickly won over women like Ava Gardner and Audrey Hepburn. It is currently considered a genderless perfume.
On sale since March 1, this edition has a RRP of 500 euros.
