When you're trying to lose weight, there are foods you immediately think to cut out. However, there are options that aren't as bad for you as you might think.

Registered dietitians Tammy Lakatos Shames and Lyssie Lakatos shared with Eat This, Not That! the foods you should keep around. Some may surprise you.

Comforting, creamy foods are one of their suggestions. "Most people crave them and end up going off track because they feel deprived," Tammy Lakatos Shames says.

On the other hand, healthier desserts are also something you shouldn't cut out entirely. "The key to losing weight and keeping it off is to include healthy desserts so your taste buds don't rebel."
