Want to learn how to make an incredible and very tasty roast chicken? British chef Jamie Oliver recently revealed the secret ingredient you should add to your recipes: milk. According to the chef, quoted in the Mirror, the ingredient helps to "lock in moisture and ensure the chicken is succulent, yet cooked through". Do you want the recipe?

Ingredients:
1 x 1.5kg free-range whole chicken
100g unsalted butter
Olive oil, for greasing
½ cinnamon stick
1 sprig fresh sage
2 lemons
10 garlic cloves
550ml milk

Method:
1- Heat oven to 190C/170C fan/gas 5. Find an appropriately sized casserole dish for your chicken.
2- Season the chicken generously all over with salt and black pepper, then fry in the butter and a little olive oil. Try to get an even colour all over, turning regularly.
3- Remove the casserole from the heat. Lift the chicken out onto a plate and pour away any excess fat from the pan.
5- Return the chicken to the pan with everything else (just zest the lemons for now, and leave the garlic cloves unpeeled), then cook in the oven for 1 hour 30 minutes, or until cooked through – basting every now and then if you remember.
6- Remove from the oven and serve with your favourite sides.
