They serve to add flavor to dishes, but their benefit goes far beyond the palate. There are herbs and spices that bring several advantages to your health.

The website Eat This, Not That spoke with dietitians Annette Snyder and Tami Best to find out which foods should not be missing from your kitchen and pantry.

The basil is one of them. It is composed of "natural substances that help the body adjust to stress, promoting the balance of body and mind", says Tami Best. You can add it to salads and even to pizzas, for example.

On the other hand, ginger is also perfect to always have around. "It contains a wide variety of potent compounds, such as gingerol, which can promote normal bowel movements through the intestines", explains Annette Snyder.
