From the original 1957 fragrance to the 2018 Eau de Parfum rebirth, all L'Interdit Givenchy scents have been anchored by a single philosophy: "A call to defy convention and break the rules." "L'Interdit is an invitation to experience the thrill of the forbidden and to feel good about oneself, free from obligations and inhibitions," reads a press release.
In that same spirit, Givenchy Parfums is unveiling a new series of collector edition fragrances: the Fleurs Interdites, or Forbidden Flowers. The line spotlights "new olfactory interpretations built around rare flowers with an almost fatal charm," explains the brand.

"Maintaining the same singular contrast of L'Interdit, between a luminous floral heart and a dark, woody base, Givenchy is highlighting the most dangerous and forbidden of flowers." Tubéreuse Noire opens the first chapter of these exclusive L'Interdit editions.
The first movement in the Fleurs Interdites olfactory journey captures the heady scent of smoky tuberose petals. "A spiral of smoke intertwines around the signature of L'Interdit," says the brand, adding that this new scent was created by master perfumers Dominique Ropion, Fanny Bal, and Anne Flipo, who "masterfully recreated the scent of a burning, carnal tuberose, engulfed in flames."

Roasted notes of coffee extract fan the flames, fusing with the luminous flower to create a dangerously addictive accord that leaves a haunting, captivating trail on the skin. The woody base of vetiver and patchouli, which defines L'Interdit, enhances the note's addictive, sensual character.

The new fragrance's ingredients were selected for their origin, quality, and sourcing from suppliers who use traditional techniques and methods. The heady trail of Indian tuberose absolute is the jewel in the crown of this new creation — a single bottle contains the equivalent of eight flowers.
This white flower is handpicked in the Tamil Nadu region of India, where it has been historically cultivated. Givenchy is committed to responsibly sourcing all of the iconic ingredients in its fragrances, which is why the house works with an independent NGO to verify the harvesting conditions of the tuberose used in this limited-edition scent. The NGO has certified that the supplier respects its workers and biodiversity. The cultivation of the emblematic Tunisian orange blossom and Indian jasmine — used in all L'Interdit fragrances — is also subject to meticulous checks in the field.
The L'Interdit Eau de Parfum bottle, with its refined silhouette and couture details, features a new adornment. The black tuberose leaves its mark on the collector edition fragrance bottle: its label, as well as the four sides of its box, are engraved with an entirely exclusive pattern, reminiscent of the petals of this increasingly fiery flower.
L'Interdit EDP Tubéreuse Noire (50 ml) has a retail price of 117.98 euros. It is available exclusively at El Corte Inglés Lisbon
