Bruising easily on your hands could in some cases be a sign of blood cancer. The warning comes from Dr Simon Ridley of Leukaemia UK, a charity which supports people diagnosed with the disease, which starts in the bone marrow - the organ that produces blood cells.
Speaking exclusively to the Daily Express, the expert said there are some symptoms which, while not specific to the condition as they can be linked to other issues, should prompt you to see a doctor. "One of the most common early signs and symptoms of leukaemia is bruising," he said.

There are some tell-tale signs to look out for when it comes to these bruises. "These bruises are different to the ones we all get from time to time, as they can appear in unusual or unexpected places, such as on the palms of your hands," he explained.
What's more, "they may take longer to disappear than normal" and could also be accompanied by nosebleeds or unusually heavy periods.
