Eating too much red meat could be fuelling cancer, a leading dietitian has warned.

Previous studies have linked eating red meat to several types of cancer, but the way in which this happens and the exact level of risk is still unclear. It is thought that while red meat increases the risk of bowel, stomach and pancreatic cancer, the threat posed by processed meat is even greater.
'Red meat is not as strongly linked to bowel cancer as processed meat, which is a Group 2A carcinogen, meaning it probably does increase your risk,' said Mr Mellor.
