When talking about vital nutrients for the body, we cannot forget fiber and protein. When you want to add ingredients that contain them to your diet, the choice may not be easy. Dietitian Destini Moody gives a helping hand.

To the website Eat This, Not That revealed some of the foods that are rich in these two nutrients. They can aid digestion, strengthen the immune system and even improve gut health.

One example is the black bean. "A lesser-known benefit of black beans is that they can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases, such as cancer and heart disease," he says.

On the other hand, lentils are also a good bet. "They help improve digestion, reduce bloating and improve gut health."
