Is the sugar intake the same when you eat cookies or an apple? The inflammation of the body is one of the consequences of sugar, but when it comes to a natural sugar, and not added, it is slightly different.
To the 'website' EatingWell, the dietician Cara Harbstreet explains what is at stake. “In theory, it could cause inflammation, but in reality, it probably does not”, she starts by saying.

"As the natural sugars in fruits are combined with nutrients, such as fibers, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, it is unlikely that the natural sugar in fruits will cause inflammation", she continues.
"It is better to think of fruits as being greater than the sum of their parts, instead of isolating the sugar content. These other nutrients easily found in fruits can really help fight inflammation."
Erin Palinski-Wade, also a dietician, explained to the same 'website' the difference of this type of sugar. "These sugars are generally digested more slowly and have less impact on blood sugar levels."
