Lifestyle Refluxo gastroesofágico
Gastroesophageal reflux can happen at any time of the day. However, many people end up dealing with it at night. Stomach acid backs up into the esophagus, causing heartburn, irritation, and discomfort.
The position you’re sleeping in, the fact that acid production is higher at night, or consuming certain foods and drinks may be to blame.
Speaking to HealthDigest, gastroenterologist Dr. Kiran Shinde explains what you can do about it.

Take Medication
There are several over-the-counter options that can minimize the issue. The specialist says it’s best to consult your doctor before you start taking them.
Adjust Your Sleeping Position
“Elevating the head of your bed, such as using a wedge pillow, can help prevent acid from reaching your esophagus. Your upper body should be elevated.”
Drink Water
“It will help dilute stomach acid and also prevent dehydration. However, avoid drinking large amounts of fluid.”
Manage Stress
“Stress can worsen reflux symptoms. Practicing relaxation techniques can help relieve reflux at night.”
