It's impossible to completely avoid situations that cause anxiety, but being able to identify them can help immensely, says Niro Feliciano, a psychotherapist and author, as quoted in Huffpost, a blog aggregator. That's why he, along with other experts, have spoken out about seemingly harmless habits that are actually making your anxiety worse.

Habits That Are Making You Way More Anxious Than You Realize:
- Binge-watching TV or shopping. More often than not, "these behaviors serve as a way to avoid your emotions, which can lead to even greater distress down the line," explains Sadaf Siddiqi, a psychotherapist.
- Asking too many people for their opinions. "Getting advice from multiple people can pull you in different directions and make it harder to hear what you're really feeling," warns Tamika Lewis, the clinical director and founder of Women of Color Therapy.
- Ignoring your stress or pretending it's not there. "Avoidance never works; it just makes it worse," says Jeffrey Barnett, a professor of psychology at Loyola University Maryland.
