Many people don't know this, but vitamin D, a fat-soluble vitamin, plays an essential role in the (good) functioning of the body. Unfortunately, many people don't have the recommended levels, which causes uncomfortable symptoms and can weaken the immune system, warns Michelle Hyman, a dietician, quoted in Better Homes and Gardens.
