We all have a favorite sleeping position and this choice can influence the quality of our sleep. What you may not know is that this preference has other effects, namely on the skin.

"Over time, sleeping on your face promotes sagging and loss of collagen in the skin", says BodyConcept in a statement. "While we are sleeping, the body regenerates. However, gravity also acts while we sleep, especially when we put pressure on the face."
Therefore, "it is advisable to stay face up in order to minimize the effects of gravity on your face", you can read in the same press release from the Portuguese network of aesthetic clinics.
